Forecast Snow Stability: New localised windslab will develop on South-West through West to North aspects above 1000 metres. The greatest instability will be where it gains depth. Areas most affected will be coire rims, gully tops and wind sheltered locations. Fragile cornices will also start to develop. The old snowpack will be firm, stable and well bonded. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Westerly gales will gradually ease overnight to become moderate in strength as it backs to become generally from the South-East. Overnight snow, heaviest in the early hours will ease to leave a mainly dry day. The freezing level will be at 750 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry day with only a few light snow showers above 750 metres. Westerly gales eased through the day with the freezing level at 950 metres. ObservedSnowStability: A dusting of fresh snow lies on bare ground and on the existing snowpack above 750 metres. The old snowpack remains stable and well bonded and can mainly be found on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
