As a consequence of a moderate westerly wind, visible wind slabs formed since Monday in all aspects. They are to be found in particular above approximately 2400 m. The fresh wind slabs are to be found also areas not adjacent to ridgelines. As a consequence of the wind more natural dry avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. Distinct weak layers exist in the snowpack on steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. Between approximately 2300 and 2700 m the likelihood of avalanches is quite high. Even single winter sport participants can release avalanches very easily, including medium-sized ones. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack can indicate the danger. The conditions are unfavourable for ski touring.

Up to 30 cm of snow, and up to 50 cm in some localities, has fallen since Saturday above approximately 2300 m. The new snow of the weekend is lying on surface hoar in some places above approximately 2300 m. Numerous weak layers exist deep in the snowpack on steep shady slopes. Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2200 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

The avalanche danger will persist. As a consequence of the solar radiation, the likelihood of dry and wet avalanches being released will increase a little in particular on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 2400 m.
