Above 9000 feet, isolated pockets of shallow wind slab can be found in steep wind loaded areas. Although small in size, if triggered, these slabs could cause serious consequences as they can carry a person into terrain hazards such as rocks and stumps. Although avalanches are unlikely at lower elevations, caution is advised given the low snow depths. At low elevations, the ground is mostly bare.

A weak high pressure system tomorrow will supply mostly clear skies with a possibility for occasional light snow showers or flurries in the mountains. Temperatures will be warmer tomorrow with highs at the upper elevations reaching the low thirties and valleys reaching into the forties.The general avalanche hazard will be LOW above 7500 feet. The possibility will continue to find small, isolated wind slabs in areas prone to wind loading above 9500 feet. Use caution in the shallow snowpack while travelling and remember even very small avalanche events can cause season ending injuries.
