Above approximately 1300 m snow will fall from midday. The wind will be strong over a wide area. As a consequence of new snow and a strong wind from southerly directions, avalanche prone wind slabs will form in the afternoon in particular at intermediate and high altitudes. In all aspects small and medium-sized avalanches are to be expected as the snowfall becomes more intense. The new snow is lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads especially at elevated altitudes. This applies in particular on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2700 m.

The old snowpack is well consolidated and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Above approximately 1200 m snow will fall until Sunday over a wide area. The new snow is bonding only slowly with the old snowpack. The southerly wind will transport the new snow significantly. Intermediate and high altitudes: Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on shady slopes. In particular in the vicinity of peaks a little snow is lying.
