The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE. Two avalanche problems remain a concern: Pockets of soft, surface slab to twelve inches deep could be triggered in wind-loaded starting zones. On Saturday, two skiers triggered such a slide. Both were caught, partially to completely buried, and sustained some injuries. Second, pockets of hard slab to 3 feet deep lie on old, faceted snow. More substantial triggers such as snowmobiles repeatedly highmarking a slope may be needed to initiate these slides.
