Kernpunkte

The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. If skies remain clear and snow surfaces soften significantly human triggered wet slides could become a possibility on very steep sunlit slopes.

Avalanche Discussion

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight as a high pressure ridge builds into the region. Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper teens to low 20s by daybreak. Skies will be mostly sunny on Thursday with increasing clouds by evening. Daytime highs will rise into the 30s and 40s. Winds will be southwesterly at 6 to 12 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard will be LOW in the morning while snow surfaces are hard and frozen. The hazard will increase to MODERATE after significant softening of the snow surfaces had occurred. Human triggered wet slides are possible in very steep, sunlit terrain during the warmer portion of the day.
