Persistent deep slabs could be human triggered in steep avalanche prone terrain above an elevation of 9,000 feet that faces north. A single person on skis could release of one of these large slab avalanches, however they are more likely to be triggered by snowmobiles. Previous tracks are not an indication of stability. These dangerous slabs could be up to to five feet deep. The potential for a person to survive being caught in one of these large destructive slab avalanches is low.
