The snowpack will be quite well bonded.
The snowpack is well consolidated and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. Avalanches can in very isolated cases be released in deeper layers by large loads. Below approximately 2200 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
Over a wide area only a little snow is lying. The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. The old snowpack is faceted, especially on steep shady slopes.
