Forecast Snow Stability: New snow quantities are not expected to be significant. Some isolated areas of moderately well bonded windslab may be present on steep South-East to South aspects above 700 metres. Greatest amounts will be found around corrie rims and other steep wind sheltered locations. The old snow patches will be stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong South-Westerly winds ease during the evening and back to the North-West remaining fresh. Initially falling as rain this will turn to snow during the early hours and will reach all levels by mid-day. The freezing level will lower to 200m. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight rain continued throughout the day, this falling as snow above 1000 metres. Winds were strong from the South West. Freezing level was around 1200 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Insignificant amounts of fresh snow has fallen above 1000 metres, and is confined to the highest summits. The old remaining snow patches are stable and can mainly be found on North and East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
