SC 06/04. Majority snow well bonded. Shallow but not extensive deposits developing on E to S aspects above 900m. Avalanche haz Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The old snow will remain well bonded and become firmer as the freezing level drops. New accumulations will start to develop, mainly in wind sheltered East to South aspects above 900 metres but depth and distribution of these deposits will not be extensive. Greatest cover will exist in high North to East facing corries and on the highest plateau areas. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be above the summits before dropping down to 850 metres or so. Rain then snow showers will be light. Strong winds will be South-Westerly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Initially there was snow showers to all levels but these became increasingly wetter during the day. Moderate winds from the South-South-West. ObservedSnowStability: New snowfall made little difference to the overall stability with only a shallow covering of wet snow above 950 metres. Older snow is soft but remains generally well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Low.
