The new snow is bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. In particular in the regions exposed to precipitation more frequent medium-sized and large avalanches are to be expected as a consequence of the new snow. As the precipitation becomes more intense the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. The peak danger point will be reached in the afternoon probably. Backcountry touring and snowshoe hiking call for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.

The old snowpack will be generally moist. The new snow is bonding only slowly with the old snowpack. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak.

The avalanche danger will increase during the day.
