The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW at all elevations this morning and will increase to CONSIDERABLE by afternoon. Unseasonably warm temperatures and forecasted highs in the upper thirties at all elevations will rapidly warm the snowpack. Natural and human triggered wet, loose slides are possible on southern exposures. At Low elevations the snowpack is already weak due to heavy faceting and slides to the ground are possible on a variety of aspects. Avoid southerly slopes after noon today and stay clear of run-out zones below avalanche terrain.

High pressure that has prevented snow from reaching the region for so long has moved east and is now passing over Wyoming. The West-Southwest flow will increase bringing a better chance of light snow to the mountains Wednesday. 9500 foot temperatures will rise into the low thirties and ridgetop winds will be Southwesterly at 25 miles per hour. The General Avalanche Hazard in the TETONS will be LOW at all elevations Wednesday morning, increasing to MODERATE in the afternoon due to the warm forecasted temperatures that increase the chance for wet, loose slides on steep Easterly to Southwesterly exposures. The General Avalanche Hazard will be MODERATE in the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and Southwest Trails/Greys River areas in the morning and increase to CONSIDERABLE in the afternoon for the same reasons mentioned above and due to the possibility of triggering full snowpack hard slabs in steep areas. These slabs can slide even in areas that have seen considerable previous traffic. Warm temperatures will reduce the amount of force needed to trigger a slide.
