At the upper elevation isolated pockets of wind slab could be a potential hazard to people who venture onto steep avalanche prone slopes. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations where snow depths are generally less than a foot deep. Very little snow exists at the lower elevations.

Expect mostly sunny skies above patchy morning valley fog on Thursday. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the upper teens before rising to near 30 during the day. Southwesterly ridgetop winds will range from 5 to 10 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Thursday. At the upper elevations, backcountry travelers could trigger pockets of wind slab up to 18 inches in depth on steep, avalanche prone slopes. Avalanche activity is unlikely below 8,500 feet.
