Kernpunkte

The snowpack is mostly stable. Backcountry skiers and riders could trigger loose snow sluffs or isolated pockets of very soft slabs to twelve inch depths in steep terrain today. Such small activity is likely to occur only near cliffs or right along ridge crests where any fall could result in serious injury. Remember that LOW hazard does not mean no hazard exists.

Avalanche Discussion

Partly sunny skies and dry conditions are expected Saturday as high pressure passes through from the west. Mountain temperatures are to be slightly warmer with highs in the mid to upper teens and winds are to be westerly with ten to fifteen mile per hour averages. The general avalanche hazard is to be LOW in Western Wyoming on Saturday. Isolated pockets of soft surface slabs to depths of one foot as well as loose snow sluffs could be triggered by backcountry riders and skiers in very steep wind loaded terrain.
