The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Strong winds and new snow have formed new slabs up to 3 feet in depth on wind loaded aspects. These DANGEROUS slabs are likley to be easily triggered by humans or could release naturally. Good terrain evaluation and route finding skills are essential for safe travel in avalanche terrain today.
