Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming a considerable danger of moist avalanches will be encountered over a wide area.

The weather will be warm. In particular between approximately 1600 and 2300 m steep north facing slopes: Natural avalanches are to be expected in particular on wind-loaded slopes. In the late morning danger level 3 (considerable) will be reached. The fresh snow of the last few days and in particular the wind slabs to be found adjacent to risgelines and in gullies and bowls can be released easily in all aspects above approximately 1900 m. At transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example such avalanche prone locations are more prevalent. Ground avalanches are possible from the morning.

Snowpack Structure

In particular gullies and bowls and steep shady slopes: The new snow is poorly bonded with the old snowpack. The snowpack will become in most cases moist.

Tendency

Already in the early morning, natural avalanches are possible.
