Kernpunkte

The snowpack is mostly stable. Along the highest ridges on steep wind-loaded slopes, skiers and riders could find isolated pockets of small wind slab avalanches, 6 to 12 inches deep. Due to the thin snowpack and hidden obstacles, any moving snow could result in severe consequences.

Avalanche Discussion

Dry weather will continue with steepening temperature inversions and a light west-northwesterly flow. Skies will be mostly sunny above areas of morning valley fog. The general avalanche hazard is low. At the upper elevations humans who venture into steep avalanche starting zones could trigger shallow wind slabs up to one foot in depth. Small slides can have serious consequences in unforgiving terrain. Hazards associated with shallow snow depths are prevalent.
