Last night's cold front brought 3 to 6 inches of new snow to the higher elevations and was accompanied by some gusty westerly winds. Today's avalanche hazard is limited to shallow pockets of fresh wind slab at the higher elevations that are less than a foot deep. The dangers associated with these small slabs are isolated to extreme terrain.

Over the next 24 hours, skies are to be mostly clear and dry. A weak system may bring occasional mountain showers with minimal accumulations expected during the afternoon. This system is likely to favor the Togwotee Pass area. Mountain temperatures are to remain on the cool side with lows near zero degrees in the morning and highs near twenty. Northwest winds are to have averages of 5-15 mph. Valleys should see highs in the low thirties. The general avalanche danger will be LOW on Monday. Above 9000 feet, the potential exists for humans to trigger shallow soft slabs on isolated terrain features loaded by recent winds.
