Below 10,500 feet, the snowpack is mostly stable. Skiers and riders could still find slab avalanches 18 inches deep on steep terrain above 9,000 feet. Cool temperatures should keep snow surfaces frozen during the morning, although clears skies may result in wet loose avalanches on solar aspects. This will most likely occur in the afternoon below 7,500 feet when temperatures rise above freezing. Monitor conditions and when snow surfaces become wet, backcountry travelers should seek shaded terrain. Another low pressure system over the Great Basin will push moisture into the region overnight and into tomorrow. Skies are expected to be mostly cloudy to overcast with light snowfall in the southern portion of the forecast area. Southerly to westerly winds will be 10 to 20 miles per hour. Mountain temperatures are expected to drop into the teens overnight and then reach the 20s and 30s by tomorrow afternoon. The valley high should climb into the upper 30s. On Togwotte Pass above 9,000 feet, the general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate tomorrow and Low below that elevation. Skiers and riders could trigger wind slab avalanches 2 feet deep on steep, leeward slopes in the highest start zones. In the Tetons below 10,500 feet and in the Southwest Trails area, the snowpack is mostly stable and the general avalanche hazard is expected to be Low. Backcountry travelers may find pockets of slab avalanches above 9,000 feet on northerly slopes that have not been melted by the sun.
