Avalanche Activity

The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.

The large wind slabs can be released even by a single winter sport participant above approximately 2500 m, especially at their margins. Dry avalanches can be released in deeper layers, mostly by large additional loads. Above approximately 2800 m the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent.

Snowpack Structure

The fresh snow and the wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack in some places. Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
