The danger of moist and wet avalanches will already increase in the late morning.
A clear night will be followed in the early morning by favourable conditions. The spring-like weather conditions from the late morning will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack. In particular in starting zones where no previous releases have taken place and on very steep slopes more medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large natural wet avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on north facing slopes, as well as on steep east, south and west facing slopes between approximately 2500 and 3100 m. In particular on very steep slopes more medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Naturally triggered avalanches and penetration of the old snow cover show the existence of a weak snowack. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.
As a consequence of new snow and a sometimes moderate easterly wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed on Monday. The new snow of Monday has settled to a large extent. Below approximately 3000 m: The snowpack is moist and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. The surface of the snowpack will already soften in the late morning. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to rapid moistening of the snowpack. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions, and in all aspects at low and intermediate altitudes. Below approximately 2400 m only a little snow is lying on south facing slopes.
