Areas most affected will be steep wind sheltered locations such as coire rims and gully tops, where deposits will be mostly avoidable. Isolated wet snow instabilities will develop later as temperatures rise. Fresh unstable cornices will form around gully tops and the edge of plateaus as the day progresses. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Precipitation is expected through much of the period. This will fall as snow initially above around 900 metres overnight, and confined to above 1000 metres during the day. Winds will mostly be from the South-West veering to the West, generally very strong, but dropping to fresh later. The freezing level will gradually rise from 850 metres to 1100 metres by the end of the period. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight rain was followed by sleet and then snow above 950 metres. Winds were very strong and generally from the West-South-West. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Following a period of instability early in the period, a more favourable situation was observed during the day. The snowpack was moist at all levels, with a firmer snow surface above 950 metres. Isolated shallow windslab deposits started to develop on North-West through North to East aspects above 950 metres. Extensive snow loss has occurred with the greatest extents above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
