In isolated cases avalanches can be released in deep layers reach medium size on very steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. These avalanche prone locations are barely recognisable, even to the trained eye, caution is to be exercised in areas where the snow cover is rather shallow,, this also applies in places that are protected from the wind. In addition the small wind slabs of Sunday are capable of being triggered in some locations. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, in particular on extremely steep slopes. As a consequence of solar radiation small dry and moist snow slides are to be expected, in particular at the base of rock walls, and in steep rocky terrain.
10 to 15 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell in the last few days above approximately 2000 m. The southeasterly wind has transported the new snow, in particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 3 (considerable). In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on shady slopes. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. At low and intermediate altitudes less snow than usual is lying. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions a little snow is lying.
The avalanche danger will persist.
