Grand Mesa

Avalanche conditions are generally safe, but if you are traveling in steep terrain, there is still a chance to trigger a small avalanche. At the top of steep chutes and couloirs, you may find recent deposits of drifted snow that could slide and as the snow gets wet due to sun and warming snow may slide off steep slopes. Triggering a small avalanches can be dangerous if swept off your feet in extreme terrain.
