Above 8000 feet, skiers and riders might be able to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab with depths to of six to twelve inches in steep, avalanche-prone terrain. The snowpack is mostly stable below 8000 feet and avalanches are unlikely.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Overnight and Friday morning mostly clear and cold conditions are expected. Temperatures are to be near zero degrees at all elevations in the morning. As the day progresses, so will the cloud cover as a weak upper level system arrives that should generate areas of light snow through Friday night. Mountain high temperatures are to be in the teens and winds are to be light. The general avalanche hazard will be Low. Above 8000 feet isolated pocket of wind slab could be triggered with depths of four to twelve inches in steep wind loaded terrain. Avalanches below 8000 feet are not expected.
