A couple inches of snow are expected overnight in the mountains. On Thursday the snowfall will continue and is forecast to increase in intensity in the afternoon. Summit temperatures will rise into the upper 20s. Summit winds will be westerly overnight at 30 to 35 miles per hour and back towards the south and decrease to 15 to 20 miles per hour on Thursday. The general avalanche hazard will increase as new snow and strong winds create new surface slabs. These new soft slabs will grain depth and volume as the day progresses.
