Individual avalanches are possible. These can be released, even by a single winter sport participant. Weak layers in the lower part of the snowpack can be released in some places in particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain.

As a consequence of low temperatures the snowpack will consolidate. Individual weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
