Forecast Snow Stability: With only isolated deposits of old snow remaining above 850 metres, any new accumulations will fall predominately on bare ground. Where these achieve depth in steepest gully flanks and exits, above 900 metres, some new localised instabilities are possible later in the day. These on North through to Easterly aspects. Good stability on all slopes at lower elevations below 700 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry and cold overnight with the freezing level around 800 metres; this will rise slightly, to around 1000 metres, by the end of the day. From first light the strong South-South-Westerly airflow will see showery outbreaks, with snow above 500 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight the freezing level lowered from above summit levels. Scattered snow showers then affected the area from mid-morning. Some brighter spells later in the day. The winds have been fresh to moderate, bringing wintry conditions on the tops. ObservedSnowStability: Old deposits of wet snow, which remain above 850 metres are re-frozen and stable. New accumulations, at time of reporting, have been insignificant. Very limited quantities only lie in steep North-West through to Easterly facing gully exits and around gully tops above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
