Snowpack Structure

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep grassy slopes below approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of mild temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack can not consolidate.

Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be in most cases moist. Gliding avalanches can be released at any time of day or night.

Individual, then as a consequence of solar radiation more, and in some cases even medium-sized, gliding avalanches are possible.
