Forecast Snow Stability: Further accumulations of poorly bonded windslab will add to existing unstable deposits, on North-East to South-East aspects above 750 metres. This will mainly affect steep wind sheltered locations such as gully tops, corrie rims, and scarp slopes. Fragile cornices will build above these aspects. North aspects above 750 metres will have areas of windslab in terrain features, due to cross-loading. Wind scoured slopes will remain icy and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight the winds will be strong and Westerly. They will then moderate and back to become Southerly during the morning. There will be light snow showers overnight, which will die out by daylight, to leave a largely dry day. Freezing level will be 400 metres overnight and slowly rise during the day to around 900 metres. Observed Weather Influences: There were snow showers down to glen level throughout the day, on strong West-South Westerly winds. The freezing level remained around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There was evidence that overnight soft windslab accumulated on North through East to South-East aspects above 750 metres, this deposition continued throughout the day. Instabilities were noted within this windslab. The greatest accumulations are in wind sheltered locations. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
