Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming and solar radiation a moderate danger of moist avalanches will be encountered in some regions.

A clear night will be followed in the early morning by quite favourable conditions generally, but the danger of wet avalanches will increase later. As a consequence of warming during the day small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible. Backcountry tours, off-piste skiing and ascents to alpine cabins should be started and concluded early. Individual avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on very steep slopes above approximately 2700 m.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be moist below approximately 2300 m. The new snow of the weekend is poorly bonded above approximately 2700 m. The meteorological conditions will foster a substantial strengthening of the near-surface layers.

Tendency

In the late morning as a consequence of solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the avalanche danger.
