Avalanche Summary

On Monday the recent snow produce sluffing in steep terrain and a few small, isolated wind slabs.

Snowpack Summary

A layer of surface hoar on a crust is on the surface or buried by up to 10 cm of recent low density snow. The exception to this is exposed alpine features that have been wind scoured.

The mid and lower snowpack is well settled.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • A hard crust on the snow surface will help strengthen the snowpack, but may cause tough travel conditions.
  • Carefully evaluate big and steep terrain features before committing to them.
  • Wind slabs are isolated, but may remain reactive.
