Forecast Snow Stability: There will be a thin, general covering of new snow above 700 metres which will rapidly thaw during the day. The patchy snow cover will be well bonded and stable with surface layers softening in the milder conditions, especially at lower elevations. More extensive areas of snow will be encountered above 900 metres, most frequently on the high mountains of the main Cairngorm plateau. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Limited snowfall overnight on light Southerly winds. Mainly dry during the day with the winds gradually increasing to become moderate South-South-Easterly by the end of the afternoon. 800 metre freezing level during the late evening, rapidly rising to above the summits overnight. Observed Weather Influences: No precipitation. Bright start with cloud building on the summits during the late morning. Light Easterly winds. Freezing level fluctuating around 1100 to 1200 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snow is well bonded and stable throughout. At lower elevations the patchy cover continues to thaw, with surface layers just starting to firm up on the highest summits. Most extensive areas of snow are present above 900 metres, especially on the high mountains of the main Cairngorm plateau. The avalanche hazard is Low.
