Forecast Snow Stability: Wind redistribution of the soft surface layers of the snowpack will deposit poorly bonded layers of soft windslab onto North-West through North to East aspects above 1000 metres through the day. These areas are not expected to be particularly extensive or deep, the tops of slopes and gullies being most affected. Fragile cornices will also begin to develop. On other aspects, and at lower altitudes, the snowpack will be hard, icy and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be generally dry although light snow showers are possible late afternoon. The freezing level will be around 600 metres. Moderate winds from the South-West will back to become Southerly. Observed Weather Influences: It was a settled day with light winds and a few snow showers. The freezing level rose to around 700 metres at midday before dropping again during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is slowly consolidating. Areas of well bonded windslab remain above 1100 metres on mainly North to East aspects with the tops of slopes and gullies most affected. On other aspects, and at lower altitudes, the snowpack has an icy crust and is generally stable. The uniform layer of fresh snow which fell during the day is very shallow. The avalanche hazard is Low.
