Adjacent to ridgelines in all aspects as well as at a distance from ridgelines: The strong wind has transported the fresh and old snow significantly. Especially transitions into gullies and bowls places that are protected from the wind: Fresh wind slabs can be released in isolated cases, especially on very steep shady slopes. Until the temperature drops more moist and wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small. This applies in particular in steep rocky terrain, and at the base of rock walls.

Snow depths vary greatly at high altitude, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 1 (low) a little snow is lying in all altitude zones. As a consequence of the strong to storm force wind, a crust formed on the surface during the last few days. More recent wind slabs are to be found also areas not adjacent to ridgelines. Towards its base, the snowpack is largely stable.

The avalanche danger will persist.
